Experience You Can Trust
The lawyer you choose to represent you in an immigration matter can make a significant difference in the outcome of your case. U.S. immigration laws are complex and subject to constant change. That is why it is essential that you hire an experienced attorney to protect your rights.
My name is Vard R. Johnson. At my office in Boston, I represent individuals and businesses in immigration issues ranging from seeking asylum to defending a deportation action due to a past criminal act. Guided by 45 years of legal experience and a drive to help clients reach their goals, I will work hard to find a resolution to your particular immigration problem.
Building a Reputation for Trusted Counsel
In 1964, I graduated from Harvard University Law School and moved to Nebraska, where I opened a general practice firm. Eventually, I narrowed my concentration to immigration law. During this time, I was admitted to several courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. I also served as:
- Director of the Legal Aid Society of Omaha
- Lecturer at Creighton Law School
- State Senator in the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature
- Member of the Board of Governors for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)
- Woodrow Wilson Fellow at Wittenberg College, Bates College, Illinois College and West Virginia Wesleyan University
Further, I received the Award of Special Merit from Nebraska State Bar Association, the Order of the Tower Award for Outstanding Service to Others from the University of Nebraska, and the honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the University of Nebraska.
Continued Commitment to Excellence
Approximately 5 years ago, I moved to Boston, where I opened a dedicated immigration law office. I have since been admitted to the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts and U.S. Court of Appeals, 1st Circuit. I have lectured on human rights at Szczecin University in Poland and continue to hold membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association, speaking at conferences of immigration lawyers and mentoring younger lawyers on immigration matters.
